To not get hit by the bikers in the first level you have to find a place where you can have a car on your right, left, and back. The cars will act as a sheild.

To make a fast turn hit the R2 button and hold to drift.

Turning At High Speeds
When you are traveling at high speeds and need to turn release the gas button,(X), and hold R1 while turning-Then Once you\'ve made the turn completely continue driving, or holding the X button.
